Older Danish banknotes and current 1000-krone banknote will no longer be legal tender in 2025

All older Danish banknotes and the current Danish 1000-krone banknote will no longer be legal tender after 31 May 2025. Have you checked if you have any older Danish banknotes or Danish 1000-krone notes in your drawer at home? 

If you do have some of these banknotes, you can still use them in Danish shops until 31 May 2025. However, after 31 May 2025, the banknotes will cease to be legal tender. So remember to take the banknotes with you next time you visit Denmark.  

On Danmarks Nationalbank's website you can see which banknotes will no longer be legal tender and which ones will still be legal tender after 31 May 2025. You can also see what you can do with the banknotes until then.
