Denmark and 26 other countries express support for Athens Pride 2023 in a common declaration

Embassies and Representations of Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States of America in Greece once again express their support for the Athens Pride festival and parade on Saturday 10 June 2023 by taking part in the events and by sharing the following words.
We join our voices to this year’s Athens Pride in agreement that, in 2023, daily life remains a challenge for LGBTQI+ people, who continue to encounter social and institutional exclusion and discrimination in many ways all over the world.
Our countries commit to respect and promote the rights of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, or their sex characteristics. We support equal treatment and full enjoyment of life for LGBTQI+ people in every aspect of their lives. We hope our message can serve as an invitation for more people to unite in this important cause.
